BritPack was created because there wasn’t a single, certified directory of British-owned businesses in the UAE, where more than 120,000 British expats live. Claire Selwood, the founder, wanted to provide a safe online space where British expats could find service providers that shared their values. BritPack’s verification process
BritPack rigorously verifies all businesses seeking listings to ensure directory integrity and credibility. This multi-step process verifies the company’s authenticity and British ownership to maintain the platform’s reputation.
The BritPack listing process begins with a complete Business Registration Form. This form, accessible via a dedicated link, requires business name, owner name, category, and a 500-word description. Businesses must post their logo, website, social media connections, email, and phone number. This first data collection underpins verification.
British ownership verification is crucial to BritPack’s vetting. Businesses must upload trade licenses. For verification, they might offer a LinkedIn profile link and a corporate website. This step is essential to ensure that BritPack’s aim to promote British-owned and run businesses is met. BritPack requires enterprises to be “majority British-owned” and licensed in the UAE.
BritPack analyses registration forms and ownership verification paperwork, verifying the information for accuracy and ensuring compliance with BritPack’s terms and conditions. BritPack may modify or remove misleading, inappropriate, or non-compliant listings.
After verification, the business is notified and listed on the directory.
BritPack adds an optional “British verified” mark to listings to boost reputation and help shoppers find verified businesses. This symbol shows the business’s British ownership and validity.
